Jealous Studio Closing For Christmas

The Jealous Print Studio in Shoreditch will be closed from 6 pm on the 21st December until the 2nd January. Charming Baker In The Studio, 19th December 2012

Mr Charming Baker has been in the studio today working on new ideas and works for 2013. Next year will be a very exciting year for Charming and Jealous. All the details will be released in the new year and we look forward to sharing those with you. Merry Christmas to everyone from the Jealous Studio.

Chris Levine Proofing In The Studio

We are very excited to be working on a project for photographer Chris Levine featuring his iconic image of the Queen.  Here are some images of the work at the proofing stage.  We look forward to sharing more images and details of the final project in the coming months.

Matt Small proofing

Matt Small has been in the studio today working alongside our head screen printer. This image, which is still at its proofing stage, is influenced by a visit to a school in Zambia.

Matthew La Croix back in the studio

Matthew La Croix has been back in the studio and working along side our printers. The proof is really taking shape and he even brought in some croissants too so he's welcome back anytime!

Here is Matthew La Croix's work being proofed in the studio.  The first cyan layer of the four colour separation that makes up the right panel was being printed today.  Matthew was the winner of the Royal College of Art Jealous Graduate Print Prize 2012.

In the studio today we have been working with Ann-Marie James on proofing her edition. She is the winner of our graduate prize from Wimbledon College of Art and you will be able to see the final outcome at Art 13, an event at Olympia 1st-3rd March 2013.

RSA Industry Designers Dinner Menu In Situ

Here is a picture sent from the RSA of the Industry Designers Dinner Menus in situ last week, designed by Margaret Calvert and printed by our very own master printer Matthew Rich.

John Robertson in the Studio

Yesterday we were delighted to welcome John Robertson in to the studio to proof his new print Once, Twice.  John was the winner of our Jealous Graduate Print Prize Award 2012.

Margaret Calvert's Menus for the Royal Designers for Industry Dinner

We were honoured to work with Margaret Calvert in the production of the menus and invitations for the Royal Designers for Industry dinner at the RSA. Jealous' master printer got down to the event which was a great success.

Sir John Tenniel Chess Board

 

Here is the finished Sir John Tenniel Chess Board that we recently worked on in the studio.  For the project we screen printed images on to the gold leaf covered wooden frame of the chess board before each one was hand coloured.  You can find out more about the project and the chess board via the Alice Through The Looking Glass Boutique website.

Russell Marshall Exhibition

This evening sees the opening of Russell Marshall's exhibition at Jealous Gallery. We have been working closely with him in the studio and it has been a total pleasure to have him around the place.

The 10 day show runs from Thursday 8th to Sunday 18th November where visitors will have the opportunity to have their own mugshot taken in our pop-up police line up booth. Come down and see it for yourself...

'Tangram' printing

This week we have been printing 'Tangram', a screen printed oversized toy that can be used as a decoration or a challenging puzzle for children and adults.

Thermocromatic Ink Printing for Opal Print and Brooklyn Brothers

This week we have been working on an interesting project from Opal Print and Brooklyn Brothers.  The project involved printing part of an invitation for an event at Tate Gallery using special thermochromic screen ink that turned clear when heated as demonstrated above.

Moniker Art Fair 2012 round up
